Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE to Launch with One UI 6.1, Based on Android 14

Samsung has confirmed that the Galaxy S24 FE will be supported by its Camera Assistant app, revealing that the device will launch with One UI 6.1, based on Android 14, straight out of the box. This follows Samsung’s trend of releasing new smartphones with the latest Android version, typically introduced by Google in the second half of each year.

The Galaxy S24 FE is expected to launch before December, though the exact release date remains uncertain. However, there’s a possibility that some markets might receive the device with Android 15 and One UI 7.0, depending on Samsung’s phased regional rollout strategy, similar to the Galaxy S23 FE.

For example, the Galaxy S23 FE launched with Android 13 and One UI 5.1 in October last year but arrived in Europe and other regions in December with Android 14 and One UI 6.0 preloaded. A similar approach could be taken with the S24 FE, though this is speculative for now.

Additionally, it’s unclear whether the Galaxy S24 FE will receive seven major Android OS upgrades like the original Galaxy S24 series. However, given that Galaxy S FE models typically offer similar hardware and software features as their non-FE counterparts, there’s little reason for Samsung to provide different levels of after-sales support across the Galaxy S24 lineup.

The Galaxy S24 FE is likely to include features found in One UI 6.1.1 on devices like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, even though it will officially be reported as running One UI 6.1.
