Pixel Devices Get 80% Charge Limit in Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2

Android 15 QPR1 Beta 2 fully rolls out the long-awaited ability to limit battery charging to 80% for Pixel devices, helping extend battery lifespan.

With Beta 1, some users received notifications about the charge limit feature but were unable to turn it off. However, Beta 2 fixes this issue, allowing users to enable or disable the feature in Settings > Battery.

In the new Charging optimization menu, you’ll find two options:

  1. Adaptive Charging: Pauses at 80% and finishes charging to 100% an hour before you unplug.
  2. Limit to 80%: Caps charging at 80% to protect your battery health.

When the 80% limit is enabled, a shield icon appears in the status bar, with the status widgets displaying “Done charging.” This feature is similar to the Pixel Tablet and Charging Speaker Dock experience. Google is expected to update Pixel support documents when Android 15 QPR1 officially launches in December.
