OpenAI announced that ChatGPT now has 200 million active users each week, doubling the number from last November when it had 100 million. A representative from OpenAI also mentioned that API usage has doubled since the release of GPT-4o mini in July.
In addition to the increase in users, OpenAI’s revenue has grown significantly. CEO Sam Altman shared with employees this summer that the company’s annualized revenue has reached $3.4 billion, up from $1.6 billion at the end of 2023.
