The Magic V3 takes Honor’s already thin foldable design even further. At just 9.2mm thick when folded, it’s the most pocketable foldable on the global market. Honor, known for innovation, launched the Magic V2 at 9.9mm, setting records. By comparison, foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and OnePlus Open in 2024 feel bulkier.
Bigger Display, Thinner Body
Despite its slim profile, the Magic V3 still features a large display. The external screen is a 6.43-inch OLED LTPO panel with a resolution of 2376 x 1060 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. When unfolded, you get a 7.92-inch OLED display with a 2344 x 2156 resolution and the same high refresh rate.
Major Hardware Upgrades
The Magic V3’s “Super Steel Hinge” allows for its thin design without compromising user experience. The internal display uses advanced materials like non-Newtonian fluid coatings and nanoscale anti-wear coatings to ensure durability. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and 12GB of RAM, the phone runs MagicOS 8.0.1, based on Android 14.
Enhanced AI Features and Battery Life
The phone includes Honor’s AI features like AI Eraser and Notes Live Translation, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. Honor has partnered with Google Cloud, boosting its software efficiency. A 5,150mAh battery, combined with an E1 chipset, ensures long-lasting power and better efficiency.
Camera System and Global Launch
The Magic V3 comes with a triple-camera system, featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 40MP ultrawide camera. These are all arranged in Honor’s classic camera bump design.
The Magic V3 will be available globally in Black, Green, and Reddish Brown, priced at €1,999 in the UK. However, it’s unlikely to be released in the US.
