Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Announced for PS5 and PC

Sony has announced a remastered version of Horizon Zero Dawn for PlayStation 5 and PC, set to launch on October 31. While fans had hoped for a Bloodborne remaster, Sony decided to focus on Horizon Zero Dawn, claiming that the updated version will bring the game on par with its successor, Horizon Forbidden West.

What’s New in Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered?

This remastered edition comes with several significant upgrades, including over 10 hours of re-recorded dialogue, motion capture improvements, and numerous graphical enhancements. Sony has improved textures, animations, and lighting, making full use of the PlayStation 5 Pro’s advanced hardware.

For existing owners of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC or PlayStation, there’s good news: you will only need to pay for the upgrade rather than buying the full game. It will be available for purchase via the Steam, Epic Games Store, and PlayStation Store.

PC-Specific Features and Console Enhancements

The remaster’s PC version will be developed by Nixxes, a studio known for quality PC ports. The PC version will include support for popular AI upscaling technologies such as DLSS, FSR, and XeSS, though more details on these features will be shared closer to launch.

Console players will experience the game with all the benefits of a PlayStation 5 title. This includes DualSense haptic feedback, 3D audio, and fully remappable controls for a more immersive experience.

PlayStation Account Requirement

However, PC players will need a PlayStation account to access Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. This requirement aligns with recent Sony PC releases, such as God of War Ragnarok and Ghost of Tsushima.

With these enhancements, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered promises to deliver a more polished, immersive experience for both new players and longtime fans of the series.
