iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 Add New Tools for Third-Party Apps

iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 introduce several exciting features for third-party apps. Users can now create Control Center shortcuts that work from the Control Center, Lock Screen, or the Action Button.

Enhanced Features for Third-Party Apps

One popular app, Halide, can now be launched directly from the Lock Screen, similar to Apple’s Camera app. You can even snap photos without unlocking your iPhone. Carrot Weather also takes advantage of new features, allowing users to add shortcuts to Control Center that instantly launch the app to the Weather or Maps tabs.

Customization Options

With iOS 18, Carrot Weather supports dark and tinted icons on the Home Screen, offering over 50 alternate app icons. These features make interacting with third-party apps faster and more intuitive.
