Apple Confirms iPhone 16 Lineup Comes With 8GB of RAM, Thanks to Apple Intelligence

The iPhone 16 lineup now has 8GB of RAM across all models, including the base iPhone 16 and the 16 Pro Max. This improvement, driven by Apple Intelligence, ensures better performance for high-end gaming and advanced tasks.

Apple confirms 8GB of RAM in iPhone 16 lineup

In a recent interview with Geekerwan, Johny Srouji, Apple VP of hardware technology, explained why all iPhone 16 models now feature 8GB of RAM. He attributed the decision to Apple Intelligence, saying it required more memory for enhanced performance.

Increased RAM for better performance

Apple Intelligence, launching with iOS 18, demands more memory than the previous iPhone models could offer. The iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max all support 8GB of RAM. This improvement boosts performance, especially in high-end gaming and other demanding applications.

Apple Intelligence drives memory upgrade

Srouji explained that Apple Intelligence’s requirements led to the RAM increase. He emphasized that 8GB of RAM helps immensely in various tasks, making the iPhone 16 lineup more powerful and capable than ever.

Future-proofing iPhone 16 lineup

While iPhone 15 users won’t get the Apple Intelligence feature due to only having 6GB of RAM, the iPhone 16 models are well-prepared for future software updates.
