Wear OS watches including the pixel watch 3 are now getting offline google maps

Google Maps is now even more helpful on smartwatches running Wear OS, as the offline mode is rolling out, including for the new Pixel Watch 3. Offline Google Maps is a game-changer, especially in areas with poor or no cellular coverage. This feature allows users to navigate and access maps even when they’re offline.

This upgrade was previously announced, and as reported by 9to5Google, it’s now starting to appear for users. While the exact limits on which Wear OS models will receive the offline mode are unclear, it has been confirmed on the Pixel Watch 2 as well.

SamMobile also reports that the update is reaching Galaxy watches running Wear OS, including the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and models as far back as the Galaxy Watch 4, which launched in 2021.

Once the update is installed, opening Google Maps on your watch will display a new message: “Offline maps on the phone are auto-downloaded to the watch.” Additionally, a new “Offline maps” page will appear in the Google Maps settings on Wear OS devices.
